Alberta seeks large spike in Provincial Nominee Program in the next three years!

In recent years, Canada has seen a significant increase in immigration, with many provinces creating their own immigration programs to attract and retain skilled workers. One such province is Alberta, which has been actively promoting its Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) to potential immigrants around the world.

And now, Alberta’s Premier Danielle Smith has announced that the province is eyeing a massive spike in its provincial nominee program over the next three years. According to her, nominations are expected to soar by almost 67 percent by the end of 2025, making it a significant increase compared to the current numbers.

The AAIP is a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) designed to attract and retain Skilled Workers to the province, helping to build a strong and diverse workforce. Under this program, Alberta nominates potential immigrants who have the skills and experience required to fill specific job vacancies in the province. Applicants can also apply for permanent residency through the federal Express Entry system, which prioritizes candidates with the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.

The program has been successful in attracting skilled workers to the province, with a high percentage of nominees successfully settling in Alberta and contributing to its economy. In 2020, Alberta nominated over 4,000 immigrants, the majority of whom were in the technology, engineering, and healthcare sectors.

The recent announcement by Premier Smith shows that Alberta is committed to continuing to attract and retain skilled workers, even in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. By increasing the number of nominations, the province hopes to fill critical skill shortages and support economic growth. To do this, potential immigrants will need to undergo a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to ensure they meet the necessary requirements for the job vacancy.

For potential immigrants, this announcement is a significant opportunity to consider Alberta as a potential destination for immigration. The province offers a high quality of life, excellent healthcare, and education systems, and a thriving economy.

Alberta’s commitment to increasing its provincial nominee program is a positive step toward attracting and retaining skilled workers in the province. With the ongoing pandemic causing disruptions in the labor market, this program provides a much-needed boost to support the province’s economic recovery. For potential immigrants, this announcement presents a great opportunity to consider Alberta as a destination for immigration and contribute to the province’s continued success. By working with Canadian Immigration Services and exploring the different immigration programs available, potential immigrants can find the best pathway to achieve their Canadian dream.

Newsteps Immigration Solutions, Surrey, Canada – The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently released the results of the latest Express Entry draw held on February 15, 2023. A total of 699 invitations were issued for the Canadian permanent residence applicants in this draw.

Similar to the previous draw held on February 1, this draw has also only invited the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants. It is the second PNP-only draw of 2023, and the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was 791, which is up by 58 points from the last PNP-only draw that took place two weeks ago, where the minimum CRS score was 733.

The Express Entry applicants can expect another draw in around two weeks if there is no follow-up draw tomorrow for candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), which would mirror IRCC’s process from the last time Canada conducted a PNP-only draw earlier this month.

To be selected in an Express Entry draw, interested foreign skilled workers must verify that they are eligible for at least one of the three programs that fall under the Express Entry application management system. After confirming eligibility, candidates can proceed to submit an electronic candidate profile through IRCC’s online portal. During each draw, IRCC will invite foreign nationals with a CRS score above the draw’s cut-off to apply for Canadian PR.

Those who receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) will have 60 days to complete and submit their electronic Application for Permanent Residence online to IRCC. If you are interested in applying for Canadian permanent residence, our team of experts at Newsteps Immigration Solutions Inc. can assist you in navigating the complex process of Express Entry and ensure that your application is submitted correctly and on time.
